The question is stated as: Find an equation of the line containing the given pair of points. (3,5) and (9,9).
My first step was to identify x1 x2 and y1, y2 so I had 9-5 /9-3 . My answer to that was 4/6 reduced to 2/3. So to write an equation I was trying to put it in the form of y=mx+b So my question is if the 2/3 is x then how do I now get B?

Question 144744: I am having some trouble graphing this eqaution: y=x^2-2x-8
The question asks that I find the y and x intercepts and the vertex. I got the x intercepts at 4 and-2, the y intercept at 0,-8 and the vertex at -1,-7. The vertex doesnt seem to work though. I'd appreciate any help I could get.

Question 144774: Here is a word problem that has been giving me some trouble. I would love some help on it. an object is dropped out of an airplane at 784 feet above the ground. the height(h) above the ground (t) seconds after it was dropped is given by the formula h=-16t^2+784. How long will it take the object to hit the ground? Please, this one is killing me.
