Question 571302: Scenario: Advertiser's of a new refrigeration process claimed that the temp of a freezer, which starts at -2 degrees Celsius, can be reduced by 1 degree per minute.
To write an expression, define a variable for the time in minutes use this variable to write a rule for the temperature.
I already have a predone graph that goes from 5 to -5 degrees on the vertical and on horizontal it goes from -5 to 5 in time. There is also a predetermined diagonal line on the graph that spans from 3 degrees celsius on the horizon to 3 degrees on the time line and on this line it has a dot at intersecting point -2 celsius and 0 on the minutes, it also has one below that on -3 degrees and 1 on minutes.
At the bottom of the graph the question asks to enter the y intercept of the line and then asks to enter the slope of the line. I'm failing 9th grade algebra and I dont quite understand the question so any help would be greatly appreciated and if you could explain how its done to where I could possibly understand it would be even better. Thank you in advance.

Question 574108: I need help in understanding how to teach my daughter with graphing 4 inequality problems from her homework,I have tried to help my daughter and I can not remember how to do this
The instructions on her homework read "Graph the following inequalities" each need to be on their own grid
1. x > 5
2. x <= -1
3. -3x - 1 <= -7
4. 3(x - 2)< 2(x + 1)
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Could you show the work so I can also understand how this is done. Thank you.

Question 574244: Solve the system of equations
x+y=6
x-y=-7
Set the first equation to: x=6-y, and solve the second equation:
(6-y)-y=-7
-y-y=-7-6
-2y=-13
y=13/2=6.5
Now solve the first equation with the newly found y value of 13/2 to obtain x:
x+(13/2)=6
x=6-(13/2)
x=-1/2=-0.5
You can check the answer by verifying if the two values satisfy either equation:
-0.5+6.5=6, which is correct and -0.5-6.5=7, which is correct as well.

Question 575497: For the equation z=3f^0. I know that z is the vertical Axis and F is the Horizontal. I am plotting the ranges -3 to 3. I understand that I need to make up a value for each Letter. What would be the best value for the Letter so it is easier to plot on the graph. If Z is 2, and than I have the 3f^0. Is my value for f 3? and than do I do 2x3= 6 plus 0 and than my asnwer is still 6. Would I plot the 3, 2, and 6 on the graph? Or is the calculations not necessary? I have somewhat of an idead, but not a full one.

Question 577610: Dear Tutor,
My question involves "Graphic Representation of Radicals of the Second Order" in Algebra 2. I know that the length of the hypotneuse of a right triangle equals the square root of the sum of the lengths of the two legs. The problems I'm having trouble with are the square roots of 15, 24, 34. Theres also one with 1/2 in front of the square root of 5. There is a question similar to this on algebra.com, but i do not understand what the tutor is saying about how to solve it. I have tried all posible square root possibilties but nothing adds up to 15, 24, or 34. My dad tried to help me, but the answers given in the book dont make sense. I have posted this question everywhere. I really hope u can help me. This is all Greek to me.
Sincerely,
A Really Confused Algebra 2 Student
