Question 45023This question is from textbook College Algebra
: Explain how the graph of g is obtained from the graph of f.
a. f(x) = x^3, g(x)=(x-4)^3
The graph of g(x) = (x-4)^3 is obtained by shifting the graph of f(x) to the right 4 units.
b. f(x) = x^3, g(x) = x^3-4
The graph of g(x) = x^3-4 is found by shifting the graph of f(x) down 4 units.
Thanks so much again!

Question 46447: Would someone explain in detail how to solve the following problem:
A bookstore manager plans to spend $60 on pens at 30 cents each and pencils at 10 cents each. The equation 0.10x + 0.30y = 60 can be used to represent the model in this situation.
a.) What do x and y represent?
b.) graph the equation
c.) write the equation in slope - intercept form.
d.) what is the slope of the line?
e.) what does the slope tell you?
What I have so far is:
0.10x + 0.30y = 60
0.30y = -0.10x + 60
I don't exactly know where to go from here because it hasn't been expalined very well in my class.
Thanks
