x-4+4 > 2+4 ... Add 4 to both sides.
x+0 > 6
x > 6
Graph:
Step 1) Draw a number line
Step 2) Plot an open circle at 6 on the number line
Step 3) Shade to the right of this open circle.
We use an open circle to exclude the endpoint. IF we wanted to include the endpoint, then we'd have and we'd plot a closed circle. But we're not including the endpoint. So we use an open circle.
We shade to the right because of the "greater than" sign. Think of numbers that are greater than 6, say the number 10. This number 10 is in the shaded region.
