Question 975332: Please help me. I'm trying to figure out the answer to writing the standard form of this equation of the line through the pair of points (5,4) and (3,9). I have to write the equation using only integer coefficients.
Answer by josgarithmetic(39617)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Using formula for Slope,
.

If you want to use Standard Form for the equation of the line,
; and you choose EITHER of the given points to find value for C.

,
and just compute the right hand side.

You can choose any form of line equation you like. If chose to start with slope-intercept form, you can use b=y-mx and solve for b, and use algebra skills to put all the needed values back to y=mx+b and then transform into Ax+By=C form. OR you can use point-slope form to fill in and use algebra skills to transform into Ax+By=C. Starting in standard form is more direct, if you know how this form works.
