the area above that line satisfies the inequality.
your inequality is y > 0
graph the line of y = 0
find the area on the graph that satisfies the inequality.
that is the area above that line.

The y value of any point is its distance from the x-axis.
(x is the distance from the y-axis)
The typical graph of the x-y plane has y increasing in the upward direction.
y > 0 --> the graph is some positive distance from the x-axis --> above it.
