Question 948231: Is (-2, 3) a solution of the system? Make sure to state yes or no and show your work to justify your answer.

y = 2x + 7
x = y - 4

Answer by amarjeeth123(569)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The given set of equations is,
y = 2x + 7.........equation 1
x = y - 4..........equation 2
From equation 2 we get y=x+4.
Substituting in 1 we get,
2x+7=x+4
x=-3
y=1
(-2,3) is not a solution of the system.
