Question 940893: I need help with a math problem. See the question says to write an equation in slope-intercept form that is perpendicular to the line 2x - 5 = -11 and passes through the point (7,5)

Simplify that.
That formulation relied on some knowledge of standard form, and also some skill with slope-intercept form.
Ax+By=C has slope -(A/B), and the line perpendicular would have slope B/A.
y=mx+b will easily give b=y-mx.
