Hi

the standard slope-intercept form for an equation of a line is 

  where m is the slope and b the y-intercept.

  2y=4x-6  y = 0, x-intercept is 6/4 = 3/2

 8x+4y=-24  y = 0, x-intercept is -3

......

y = 2x - 3,  m = 2, y-intercept is -3  (Green) slants to the right...positive slope

y = -2x - 6, m = -2, y-intercept is -6  (Blue)  slants to the left...negative slope
