SOLUTION: Figuring out the graph for:
f(x) = 12x^3 - 12x^2 - 24x
I understand that I must factor:
f(x) = 12x(x^2 - x - 2)
f(x) = 12x(x+1)(x-2)
x-int:(0,0)(-1,0)(2,0)
y-int:(

Question 916554: Figuring out the graph for:
f(x) = 12x^3 - 12x^2 - 24x
I understand that I must factor:
f(x) = 12x(x^2 - x - 2)
f(x) = 12x(x+1)(x-2)
x-int:(0,0)(-1,0)(2,0)
y-int:(0,0)
then I don't know what to do I have the points on the graph but don't know how I would graph this. Please help!

Answer by ewatrrr(24785) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
f(x) = 12x^3 - 12x^2 - 24x
f(x) = 12x(x^2 - x - 2)
f(x) = 12x(x+1)(x-2)
x-int:(0,0)(-1,0)(2,0)
y-int:(0,0)
good Work.
What goes Up, in this case, must go down and visa-versa
Where does it turn: f' = 0 gives us that: at x = -.55, 1.22 (rounded)
f(-.55) = 7.57, f(1.22) = -25.35 (rounded)
Regardless...for sketching using the visual of ~ -.5 and ~1 will do.
f(-.5) = 7.5, f(1) = -24

---------------------
You have 4 points.
Pick other values for x and find y.
Do as many as you need.
You can use Excel to make a table.
