Question 90679: Solve the system by graphing.
4x + 2y = 10
y = 4

Answer by Edwin McCravy(20055)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Solve the system by graphing.
4x + 2y = 10
y = 4

First graph
Get some points on the line:

(0,5), (2,1), (3,-1)

Plot those and draw a line through them.

Now draw the other line on the same set of axes,
It is a horizontal line 4 units above the
x-axis:

Draw a vertical line through their point of intersection.

It cuts the x axis at x = and
the horizontal line cuts the y-axis at 4,
so the solution is

x = , y = 4, sometimes written

(x,y) = (,4)
