Question 863056: answer for x and y in -3x-7y=-18 and -5x-3y=-4

Answer by checkley79(3341)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-3x-7y=-18 multiply by 5.
-5x-3y=-4 multiply by -3 & add.
-15x-35y=-90
15x+9y=12
--------------
-26y=-78
y=-78/-26
y=3 ans.
-3x-7*3=-18
-3x-21=-18
-3x=-18+21
-3x=3
x=3/-3
x=-1 ans.
Proof:
(-5*-1)-3*3=-4
5-9=-4
-4=-4
