The simplest approach is through slope-intercept form.
, m is slope and b is y-intercept.
Solve for b, and use the necessary point to be contained on the expected line:

Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
m= - 3/ 5
plug point and the slope
Plug value of the slope and point ( -6 , 2 ) in
Y = m x + b
2.00 = - 3/5 * -6 + b
2.00 = 18/5 + b
b= 2 -3 3/5
b= -8/ 5
So the equation will be
Y = - 3/5 x -8/5
