Question 85102: I have a question that states: find the graph of f(x)=3(x-4)^2+2. How do I do this problem? I have tried and can't get it.
Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
find the graph of f(x)=3(x-4)^2+2.
Rewrite in the form:
y-2 = 3(x-4)^2
This is the vertex form of a parabola.
The vertex is at (4,2)
Since 3>0 the parabola opens up.
If x=0, y=3(-4)^2+2 = 50 giving (0,50) as the y-intercept
Plot the vertex and the intercept and draw the parabola.
