Question 83829: What is the solution to the system of equations y = 2x and y = -x + 3
Answer by lekelly(20)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y=2x
y=-x+3
So, if you plus 2x in for y in the second equation, you get:
2x=-x+3
solve for x
x+2x=3
3x=3
x=1
to check your answer you can plug back into the equations:
y=2*1=2
y=-1+3=2
