Question 82270: The following have to be graphed, and the half-plane must be determined.
y>3
These inequalitiess must be graphed.
4x+y>4
3x-4y<12
Here is a math question that has me totally confused. I have a hard time cmprehending the the math questions. If I have $30 in change consisting of dimes and quarters. How would I write an equality that shows the different amount of coins.

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The following have to be graphed, and the half-plane must be determined.
y>3
------
1st: Sketch the booundary, which is the line y=3, with a dashed line.
2nd: Pick a test point, like (0,0)
3rd: Substitute the values of the test point into the INEQUALITY:
0>3
4th: If the result is true the half-place containing the test point
is the solution set for the inequality; if it is false the half-place
on the other side of the boundary is the solution.
Your Problem: It is false so the half-plane that does not contain (0,0)
is the graph of the Inequality.
======================
These inequalitiess must be graphed.
4x+y>4
Solve for y:
y>-4x+4
1st: Graph the boundary as a dashed line
2nd: Pick a test point like (0,0)
3rd: Substitute to get 0>-4*0+4; This is false
4th: Solution on the other side.
==============
3x-4y<12
y>(3/4)x+3
Follow the same procedure.

----
Let number of dimes be "x" : Value of these is 10x cents
Let number of quarters be "y"; value of these is 25y cents
--------
EQUATION:
value + value = 3000 cents
10x + 25y= 3000
