Question 802861: Find the slope of the line which contains (2/3,-4)and passes through the origin? Please show me the steps to solving this. Thank you
Answer by Cromlix(4381) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
As the line passes thro' the origin
this gives you another set of coordinates,
(0,0)
Using the gradient (slope) equation:
y2 - y1/x2 - x1
-4 - 0/2/3 - 0
-4/2/3
Slope = -6
Using y = mx + c
-4 = -6(2/3) + c
-4 = -4 + c
c = 0
Equation = y = -6x
Hope this helps.
