You can find thr slope of a linear equation by putting the equation in the "slope-intercept" form: y = mx + b m is the slope, b is the y-intercept.
x + y = 4 Rewrite as: y = -x + 4 and compare with y = mx + b
m = -1, so the slope is -1.
