Question 790830: I am totally lost on how to do this. Any help would be appreciated:)
Write an equation for a linear function whose graph has the given characteristics.
Passes through (−2, 8) and (2, −10)
Answer by josmiceli(19441) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Use the general point-slope formula
You are given:
( x1,y1) = ( -2,8 )
(x2,y2) = ( 2, -10 )
-----------------
( y2 - y1 ) / ( x2 - x1 ) = ( y - y1 ) / ( x - x1 )
Multiply both sides by
-------------------
check for given points:
(-2,8)
and
(2,-10)
OK
