I need a step by step explaination of this problem's solution. i have tried it many different times. My graphing calculator is telling me that the answer is -3.23, but everytime i do the problem manually, i get a different answer - usually 3.26 or 3.24 or even 3.65, so... can you help?

8x=-28
x=-7/2
x=-3.5

Comment: You probably are getting strange answers because
Parentheses like (x-2/4) and (x-3/3) can be correctly and
incorrectly interpreted.
I have taken the 1st to mean x-(1/2)and the 2nd to mean x-1
But others might take it to mean (x-2)/4 and (x-3)/3
