Question 771456: Are the following lines parallel, perpendicular, or neither?
L1 with equation x – 5y = 25
L2 with equation 5x + y = 5

Answer by mananth(16946)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
with equation x – 5y = 25
5y=x-25
/5
y=(1/5)x -5
slope m1 = (1/5)
L2 with equation 5x + y = 5
y=-5x+5
slope m2=-5
m1 * m2 = (1/5)*(-5) =-1
therefore the lines are perpendicular
