Question 762693: how do you write an equation from the given slope and point (-4,1) m= 3/4?
Answer by malglu(63)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
the equation will be of the form y=mx+c
we know that m=3/4
y=3/4x +c
we also know that the point (-4, 1) fits on the line, so fill this in
1=3/4 * -4 +c
and we get
1= -3 +c
+3 on each side
4=c
so the equation is
y= 3/4x +4
