Graph using the intercept method: x + 3y = 6.

Answer by funmath(2933)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Graph using the intercept method: x + 3y = 6.
Let x=0 and solve for y, (0,y) is the y-intercept.
0+3y=6
3y=6
3y/3=6/3
y=2
Plot the y-intercept (0,2)
(It's at 2 on the y axis)
Let y=0 and solve for x. (x,0) is the x-intercept.
x+3(0)=6
x+0=6
x=6
Plot the x-intercept (6,0)
(It's at 6 on the x axis)
Connect the points and you have a line that looks like:

Happy Calculating!!!!
