Question 738316: Graph this equation on a rectangular coordinate system: y=1/3x-3.
I am not quite sure how to graph an equation with a fraction in it and my book doesn't explain it very well to me. Can anyone help me please??

Answer by richwmiller(17219)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
It will be a straight line.
when x=0 then y=-3
so plot (0,-3)
when y=0
0=x/3-3
3=x/3
9=x
then x=9
plot (9,0)
Connect these two points and form your line
