Question 73659: How do you find the x-intercept of the graph of the equation:
x + 6y = 7
Also how do you find the y-intercept of the graph of the equation:
y - 3x = 4
I tried to do the problem x+6y=7 like this:
x+6y=7
x+6(1)=7(i used 1 as just a filler because thats the only way i knew to answer)
1+6(1)=7
I got this answer wrong on my test and have one more chance to correct it.

x=7-6y (thats the x-intercept)
x+6y=7
-x -x
----------
6y=7-x
/6 /6
y=7/6-x/6 (thats the y-intercept)
(7-6y)+6y=7
7-6y+6y=7
7+0y=7 (no solution)-because 0y is not a possible answer!!!1
