Question 735778: How do I solve and graph 3x + 5y = 0. I need step by step instructions on how to move y to one side.
Answer by rothauserc(4718)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
we are given 3x + 5y = 0
First divide both sides of the = sign by 5
and we get
3/5 x + y = 0 and
y = -3/5 x + 0
this equation is in the form y = mx + b where m is the slope (y/x) and b = 0
now we see that if x =0 then y=0 and using the value for m (-3/5) we get the points (5, -3) and (-5, 3) are on the line that goes through the origin (0,0)
ok?
