Question 73407: Solve the system of equations by graphing. What is the solution?
x+4y=12
y= -x

Solve the 1st equation for y

Now graph the 2 equations
Graphs of y=3-(1/4)x and y=-x
The solution is the intersection in the form of (x,y). So if we only had the graph we could estimate the solution to be about (-4,4). I'm just looking at the graph and guessing where they intersect, this intersection is the solution.
