Use the point/slope form: y - y1 = m(x - x1), where
m = -6; x1 = 5; y1 = 12
so we have:
y - 12 = -6(x - 5)
y - 12 = -6x + 30
y = -6x + 30 + 12
y = -6x + 42, the equation in the slope/intercept form
:
(7, 3) and (5, 4)
Find the slope using the formula: m = , where
x1 = 7; y1 = 3
x2 = 3; y2 = 4
so we have;
m = = OR is the slope (m)
Use the point/slope form: y - y1 = m(x - x1), where
m = -1/2; x1 = 7; y1 = 3
so we have
y - 3 = (x - 7)
y - 3 = x +
y = x + + 3
which is
y = x + +
y = x +
or
