y=-5x+1 is the formula for a line with as slope of (-5).
A) Any line with a slope of (-5) is parallel to this line
B) Any line perpendicular to this line has a slope of the negative recoprical of this slope. Thus (+1/5) is the slopre of any perpendicular line.
C) a parallel line through (4,1) with a slope of (-5)is:
-1=-5*4+b
-1=-20+b
-1+20=b
b=19 so the formula for this line is:
y=-5x+19
(graph 400x400 pixels, x 4from -20 to 20, y from -20 to 20, y = -5x +19).

given the equation y=-5x+1
This given line has a slope of -5
---------------
a. find the slope of a line parallel
Any parallel line must have the same slope of-5.
------------------
b. find the slope of a line perpendicular
Any perpendicular line must have a slope of 1/5
---------------
c. graph a parallel line that goes throught the point (4,-1)
If parallel the slope is -5.
So, -1=-5*4+ b; b=19
EQUATION:
y=-5x+19
You need two points to graph the line:
If x=0, y=19, giving you pt. (0,19)
If x=1, y=14, giving you pt. (1,14)
Plot those two points and draw a line thru them:
