As a painter begins work, one fourth of a house has already been painted. Eight hours later, the house is two-thirds painted. Calculate the painter’s work rate (i.e.slope).
----------
You have two points involving (time,work done):
They are (0,1/4) and (8,2/3)
The slope relates (job done / time) or rate.
slope= [(2/3)-(1/4)]/[8-0]= (5/12)/8 = 5/96 = 1job/19 1/5 hrs
