What is the x coordinate of the point at which the line intersects the x axis on a graph with a line going through point (7,2) and point (8,-1)

slope = (2--1)/(7-8) = -3

You have m = -3 and y = -1 when x = 8 ; solve for "b":
-1 = -3*8 + b
b = 22
