Question 68502: Solve and graph the solution set. 3(x – 4) > 7x – 9
I am having trouble solving this problem and graphing. Could someone provide me with a little help to get back on track. Thanks.

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve and graph the solution set. 3(x – 4) > 7x – 9
------------------
3x-12 > 7x-9
Subtract 3x from both sides to get:
4x-9<-12
Add 9 to both sides to get:
4x < -3
x<-3/4
----------
Draw a number line. pick and point and label it -3/4
Darken all the points to the left of -3/4
Put an open circle on the point -3/4.
That is the graph you want.
Cheers,
Stan H.
