Question 678381: What is the graph of 2x≥y+6

Solve for y. 2x>=y+6 (subtract 6 from both sides) 2x-6>=y which is the same as y<=2x - 6. That's the graph of a straight line and everything beneath it. What is the straight line?

y=2x-6 is the equation of the line in slope-intercept form. It has a slope of 2 and crosses the x-axis at y=-6. That means one point on the line is (0,-6). Find another point using the slope 2 = 2/1 = rise/run = y-change/x-change. If you go 2 spaces up you have to go 1 to the right. So another point is (1,-4)

Or use y=0 in the equation to find the second point. 0=2x-6 ---> 2x=6 and x=3 so another point is (3,0)

y <= 2x+6 includes that line y=2x-6 and everything beneath it.
