SOLUTION: i am lost. i have a story problem. 5x+12y=240. x paperbacks are $5 each and y hardback books are $12 each. i came up with 5x24+12x10=240. i dont think it is correct.

Surely there is more information, such as how many books were sold in all. The way you have it illustrated would be 34 books in all.
