: Find the slope of the line through the following pairs of points:
(-5, -3) and (-5, 2). I tried to graph this in excel according to the way the book describes..(placing dots at the desired points, then connecting those dots with a line going through them to find the slope.) I have tried this and the dots I can not figure out where and how to place them. The lines are hard to determine the points because there are no ends to them even though I chose the one that has the circles at each end of the line to determine the start and end of each point. I would greatly appreciate any help you could assist me with this. Thanks

Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Find the slope of the line through the following pairs of points:
(-5, -3) and (-5, 2).
-----------------------------
Both points have the same x-value.
So the graph is a vertical line going through all the points
where x=-5. The equation of the line is x=-5.
The slope is undefined or infinite.

Stan H.
