right then, is a u-shaped curve.

When x=0, --> y=9-3 --> y=6

When y=0,

x-3 = +-
so either x =
or x =

this gives you enough info to sketch the curve.

If you want to PLOT it properly, then pick various x values and find the y-values then plot them.
