any line that has a slope that is the negative reciprocal of -4 will be perpendicular to that line.
the negative reciprocal of -4 is 1/4
the line will have a slope of 1/4
the value of b can be any value.
example:
y = 1/4 * x + 5 will be perpendicular.
y = 1/4 * x - 5 will be perpendicular.
slope intercept form of the equation of a straight line is:
y = m*x + b
m is the slope
b is the y-intercept
