Question 6357: Find x and y-intercepts for the equation. Then graph the eguation.
15y-3x=-9
Answer by Abbey(339) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First put this into y=mx+b format:
add 3x to both sides:
15y=3x-9
divide by 15:
y=(3/15)x-(9/15)
reduce fractions:
y=(1/5)x-(3/5)
your y intercept occurs when x=0:
y=-3/5, so the y-intercept is (0,-3/5)
the x intercept will be when y=0
0=(1/5)x-(3/5)
add 3/5 to both sides:
3/5=1/5x
multiply both sides by 5:
3=x, so the x intercept occurs at (3,0)
