Answer by 303795(602) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Equation 1 : 2x + 3y = 1
Equation 2 : 5x + 3y = 16
Subtract equation 1 from equation 2 to obtain
3x=15 Divide both sides by 5 to get
x = 5
Substitute x=5 into the first equation
2*5 + 3y = 1
10 + 3y = 1 Subtract 10 from each side of the equation
10 + 3y - 10 = 1 - 10
3y = -9 Divide each side by 3
y = -3
