(5,1) 2x + 2y=5
2x+ 2y=5
2y/2 + 5/2
y=-1 + 5/2 i am lost now

The equation of the line that goes through the point ( 5 ,1 ) and is parallel to the line 

2x + 2y = 5   or  y = -x + 5/2, y = mx+b,   m = -1

New Line:  Parallel Lines have equal slopes

y = -1x + b   |Using Pt(5,1) to solve for b

1 = -5 + b

 6 = b

 y = -x + 6
