Write the equation of the line which passes through the point (2, 1) and is parallel to the line with equation y = 5/2x + 6.
m = 5/2 since it is parallel, the second equation's slope is also m = 5/2
(2,1) m = 5/2
y = mx + b
1 = 5/2 (2) + b
1 = 5 + b
1-5 = b
-4 = b
y = mx + b
y = 5/2 x -4
