Question 61117: Graph using the intercept method: 5x – y = 5.
Answer by funmath(2933) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Graph using the intercept method: 5x – y = 5.
To find the x intercept, let y=0 and solve for x.
5x-0=5
5x=5
5x/5=5/5
x=1
Put a point on (1,0) This is where the line will cross the x axis.
To find the y intercept, let x=0 and solve for y.
5(0)-y=5
0-y=5
-y=5
-1(-y)=-1(5)
y=-5
Put a point on (0,-5). This is the place where the line will cross the y-axis.
Connect the points and you should have a line that looks like this:
Happy Calculating!!!
