You can Graph these equations.
-4x+y=-5
2x+y=7
Put equations into slope Intercept form y = mX + b.
-4x+y=-5 add 4X to both sides of the equation y = 4X-5.
The first equation is a straight line with the y-intercept at -5.
Graphing Table
X | Y
------
-2|-13
-1| -9
0 | -5
1 | -1
2 | 3
3 | 7
Connect these points on your graph or enter y1 = 4x-5 into your graphing calculator to see the graph.

2x+y=7 subtract 2x from both sides of the equation y = -2x+7
The second equation is also a straight line but the y-intercept is at 7.
Graphing Table
X | Y
------
-2| 11
-1| 9
0 | 7
1 | 5
4 |-1
5 |-3
Connect these points on your graph or enter y1 = -2x+7 into your graphing calculator to see the graph.

I know another tutor already told you how to graph these. In case you don't have a graphing calculator with you, here's the graph:

The red line is: -4x+y=-5
The green line is: 2x+y=7
Their point of intersection is the solution: (2,3)
Happy Calculating!!!
