You don't solve it.
It's 1 equation with 2 variables, so it has an infinite # of solutions.

y = x - 3 is the slope-intercept form, y = mx + b
b is the y-int, it's -3, or (0,-3). That's a point on the graph.

The graph is a straight line, so you need 2 points to make the graph.
The slope, m, is +1, so you can count one square the right, an increase in x, and one square up, and increase in y, and plot a 2nd point.
--> (1,-2)
Draw a line thru the 2 points.

You can pick any value for x and find y.
eg, x = 3 --> y = 0 gives the point (3,0)
