Please help me to graph this inequality,
x > 1

Draw a number line like this

-4  -3  -2  -1   0   1   2   3   4   5   6

Now on the line above the 1 draw an open circle
like this

-4  -3  -2  -1   0   1   2   3   4   5   6

Now since x is greater than 1, and all the
numbers greater than 1 are to the right of
the number 1 on the line, darken the line to
the right of 1, and put an arrow on the 
right end to indicate that the values of x
which are greater than 1 do not stop at 6,
but continue indefinitely to the right, like
this:

Now if you had to draw the graph of

   x < 1

instead, it would have been:

If you had to draw the graph of

   x > 1

which means "x is greater than OR EQUAL TO 1"
instead, it would have been:

with the circle darkened to show that x could 
equal to 1.

which means "x is less than OR EQUAL TO 1"
