Graph the functions
f(x)=-2x-5
Find f(0) by substituting 0 in for x and solving for f(x). f(x) corresponds to the y axis in the rectangular coordinate system.
f(0)=-2(0)-5
f(0)=-5 Plot (0,-5)
Find f(1) the same way:
f(1)=-2(1)-5
f(1)=-2-5
f(1)=-7 Plot (1,-7)
This is a linear function, so you can now connect the dots and have a line that looks like this:
