using the graphing method how do you do y=3, x+y=5 Please help me and how to do it.
-----
Graph y = 3 as a horizontal line passing thru all points where y = 3.
---
Solve x + y = 5 for "y":
y = -x+5
Plot two points:
(0,5) and (5,0)
Draw a line thru them.
--------------
Solution:
Find the point where y =3 meets y = -x+5
Answer: (2,3)

Answer by Edwin McCravy(20055)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y=3, x+y=5

Since y=3 is given, that means that anywhere you see y,
you can put 3 in place of it.

So put 3 in place of y in this:

x+y=5

and you get

x+3=5

And you can see that 2 is the only number x could be. So

y=3 and x=2
-------------------
You can also solve

x+3=5

by adding -3 to both sides:

x + 3 = 5
   -3  -3
---------
x     = 2
