Question 535445: can you please help me figure out the slope of the line that is perpendicular to y=5x+10.....i am having some troubles with math this year and i really want to get a good grade, but this is what i am struggling on..thanks!
Answer by stanbon(75887)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
figure out the slope of the line that is perpendicular to
y=5x+10
That line has a slope of 5
----
If 2 lines are perpendicular, the product of there slopes must be -1.
----
Solve 5*m = -1
m = -1/5
That is the slope you want.
