When i input this into my ti83+ an error comes up saying nonreal ans.I have done f(x)=ln x (first part of problem i'm working)
my second problem is f(x)=sqrt(-x) ( i have done f(x)=sqrt x

You're getting non-real answer because log and square root of a negative number is undefined. That is unless you use complex/imaginary numbers.
