I have no idea in the world how you do it. You have to look inward or find someone who knows you well to answer that question. On the other hand, this is how I would proceed, if you think it would be helpful:
Add 3 to both sides. Add -2x to both sides. Collect like terms on both sides. Divide the constant term in the RHS by the coefficient on the variable in the LHS.
